AFFORDABLE CONNECTIVITY PROGRAM (ACP)

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), replaces the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (EBB). ACP is an FCC benefit program that helps low-income households pay for broadband service and internet connected devices.

If your household is eligible for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), you may select from the following monthly benefits:

TABLET PLAN-

Unlimited Data* Eligible households can receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a tablet from AFNET if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 towards the purchase price.

PHONE PLAN-

Promotional service offer supported by the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) operated by the FCC. Only eligible consumers may enroll. Eligibility is based on income less than or equal to 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines or participation in Lifeline, Medicaid, SNAP, WIC, free or reduced-price school lunch/breakfast, or Pell Grant and is determined by the National Verifier (documentation may be required). The ACP benefit is non-transferable and is limited to one monthly service discount and benefit transfer per household. *After you have used your plan’s high-speed data allowance of 10 GB, we will not turn your data off. Your speed will be reduced to 512 Kbps until your service plan renews at the beginning of your next billing period.

HOW TO QUALIFY?

If you’re interested in ACP benefits, you may qualify by participating in government benefits programs such as: Lifeline, SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, Federal Public Housing Assistance, Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefits Fund and more You may also qualify if your total household income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines or unemployment.

In general, if a subscriber participates in any of the following programs, they are qualified for low-income telephone assistance.

-Received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year

-Food Stamps or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

-Special Supplemental Nutriton Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

-Medicaid (not Medicare)

-Supplemental Security Income (SSI)*

-Section 8 Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)

-Veteran's Pension or Survivor's Pension Benefit

In addition, residents of Federally-recognized Tribal lands may qualify under the following programs:

-Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations

-Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance

-Tribally Administered TANF

-Head Start (meeting income-qualifying standards)

PROOF OF ELIGIBILITY

Enrollment is available to individuals who qualify based on federal or state-specific eligibility criteria.

You may qualify if you or a member of your household participate in one of these assistance programs:

- Received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year

- Medicaid/Medi-Cal

- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (Food Stamps or SNAP)/CalFresh

- Supplemental Security Income

- Federal Public Housing Assistance

- Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance

- Tribally-Administered Temporary Assistance for Needy Families

- Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations

- Tribal Head Start

- Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefit

ONE ACCOUNT PER HOUSEHOLD

Only one monthly service discount and one connected device discount is allowed per household.

A household is a group of people who live together and share money even if they are not related to each other.

If you live together and share money, you are one household. If you either don’t live together or you don’t share money, you are two or more households.

You may have to answer questions about your household when you apply for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).

One Household Examples-

- A married couple who live together must share one ACP benefit

- A parent/guardian and child who live together must share one ACP benefit

- An adult who lives with friends or family who provide financial support must share one ACP benefit

Multiple Household Examples-

- 4 roommates who live together but do not share money are 4 separate households. All 4 can receive the ACP.

- 30 seniors who live in an assisted-living home but do not share money are 30 separate households. All 30 can receive the ACP.

- A student who receives a Federal Pell Grant and lives alone is a different household than his or her parents. Both the student and their parents are separate households and can receive their own benefits.
